HUMANGEAR GOBITES
Humangear is an outdoor gear start-up based in San Francisco that focuses on sustainability with 'fun & usable' products, with the goal of ending disposables. While providing smart and ultra-practical solutions, Humangear is looking to develop their first tableware, creating a new product category for the brand. My vision was to define this product as the foundation for the brand to lean on for a future portfolio extension. This unique opportunity led me to rethink utensils and eating rituals for “Humans”. My approach was anchored in the Japanese origamis combined with western habits. Folding simply a surface to create a function and structural strength leading to the brand's signature. The initial intent was successfully carried to production without compromise. During the process, I have led the industrial design, rapid prototyping, and overall user experience.
